On May 13, Student of the Year Award Ceremony was held at the Ministry of Education and Youth Policy in Ryazan.
Student of the Year Award is a unique competitive and educational project for students. Currently, it aims at looking for and supporting students who have achieved particular accomplishments in the areas of professional work, creativity, sports, student leadership, community service, and voluntary activities. In 2019 the project became a part of the bigger presidential initiative “Russia – Land of Opportunity”.
This year 16 RSMU students took part in such nominations as Community Leader of the Year, Intelligence of the Year, Intellectual Resource of the Year, Creative Person of the Year, Sportsman of the Year, Foreign Student of the Year, Volunteer Association of the Year, Patriotic Association of the Year.

This May, International Cricket Competitions among students of Medical and Pharmaceutical Universities of Russia was held in Ufa (Republic of Bashkortostan in Russia). The competition featured 6 teams from Republic of Bashkortostan, including teams representing Ryazan and Kazan.
The united and strong-willed FOIS Team achieved a victory against Kazan State Medical University with a score of 87:69.
RSMU was represented by 13 participants: Hangavelu Vanitha Arun, Anil Singh Chaudhary, Santhosh Yadav, Vikash, Vaibhav Singh, Meraj Ahmad, Rajan Maurya, Sharan Shanmugam, Sahil Gora, Prakhar Singh, Yasas Wanniarachchi, Waleed Сhowdhry, Ishara Kariyawasam.
It is noteworthy that the interest in sports participation is constantly on the rise. FOIS students love games, and they especially love the chance to let the steam off through an adrenaline-rush, competitive game of sports.

RSMU has moved up 223 positions in the subject ranking of Round University Ranking (RUR) and joined the Silver League. Experts rated the teaching quality at RSMU Specially high: according to this indicator RSMU is listed among the world top 300 universities in the “Teaching” ranking. At present, it is ranked 23rd among Russian universities.
This year 869 universities from 74 countries of the world took part in the RUR-2021 ranking.
Currently the ranking assesses the performance of several hundred top universities according to 20 indicators that measure four areas of university activity: teaching, research, international diversity and financial sustainability.
It should be mentioned that the University’s entering the list of the world’s top 300 universities in leading global rankings and continuous improvement of indicators is recognized by experts as a prominent achievement, evidencing high quality of education and science, as well as a high status of its diploma.
Now a days improving the quality of education at the University is inextricably linked with the development of academic mobility.
Earlier this April RSMU professors Dmitriev A.V., Gudkov R.A., Petrova V.I., Fedina N.V. gave online classes for SMU students (Kazakhstan) doing their course "Infant Diseases". The practical classes covered the issues of child nutrition and physical development, kidney disease, child's anemia, immune thrombocytopenia, heart defects.
Dolinnaya V.T., SMU Associate Professor at Department of Pediatrics, taught 4th year students of RSMU.
Thus, such practical training helps future doctors learn how to accurately determine children’s diseases at the polyclinic level, to provide appropriate combination treatment for all major diseases, to improve counseling for caregivers, and to speed up the referral of seriously ill children to appropriate specialists.
